Can anyone be hypnotized?

The only people that cannot be hypnotized are those with an IQ below 70.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
No, you cannot get stuck in hypnosis. It is a natural state of relaxation, and you will either wake up naturally or drift into regular sleep. Just like you can enter and exit meditation.
Do I need to talk to my doctor about hypnosis?
It is always recommended to consult your doctor. If you are currently undergoing treatment, taking medications and are under the supervision of medical professional care you must consult your doctor to if hypnosis is right for you.
What’s the difference between a hypnosis practitioner (hypnotherapist) and a hypnotist?
A hypnosis practitioner or hypnotherapist is trained to help facilitate a client’s genuine desire and effort to achieve their personal goals. Also, a hypnosis practitioner undergoes through a much more rigorous training and certification process. In Texas a hypnotherapist is referred as a hypnosis practitioner.
Is hypnotherapy the same as brainwashing or mind control?
NO. Absolutely not. Hypnotherapy is not the same as mind control or brainwashing. Hypnotherapy is a tool for self-empowerment. Because it provides access to the subconscious mind, it gives YOU the power and control of your own thoughts, emotions, patterns, and actions.
How do I feel during hypnosis?
During Hypnosis one feels completely relaxed and completely aware.
Would I lose control during hypnosis?
NO. The complete opposite occurs, you gain control of your thoughts and emotions.
Is hypnosis covered by insurance?
It depends on the provider. However, Mindful Peripeteia does not accept insurance or files insurance claims. All services are self-pay.

NO. No cameras or audio recordings are allowed. Phones must be turned off during your session.

How many sessions are in the program do I need?

Can hypnosis make me do something against my will?
No, hypnosis cannot make you anything against your will, morals, or ethics. During hypnosis you remain in control, and the process is based on trust and collaborations between you (the co-therapist) and the hypnosis practitioner or hypnotherapist.
Is there something I can do to get better results?
Yes. The results truly depend on you, you get out of hypnosis exactly what you put in. Meaning, your commitment and determinations for change. Communications goes along way, it’s important to keep open communication with the hypnotherapist for adjustments to help you navigate through the process. Listen to your audios, do the homework/assignments, and journal. I know, I know, we all dislike homework. Keep in mind that homework/assignments/journaling are not only to help you measure your progress but to recognize your triggers.

How long are the sessions?
Because at Mindful Peripeteia we do not use a one size fits all, and sessions are designed to fit your needs, the average time for a session is 90-120 minutes (1.5-2 hours).
What if I only want to come to 2-3 session?
At Mindful Peripeteia we do things a little different. Sessions are client centered, all sessions are designed to support your goals and personal growth. While the number of sessions can vary from person to person, it is important to keep in mind that when we are working with the mind, we have to respect the process and allow it time to do its perfect work. In average, it’s 6-10 sessions. Be ready to commit to 10 sessions. Our hypnotherapy methods are supported by research funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), demonstrating their effectiveness in promoting positive change and well-being.
